Minutes of the May 10, 2012 Meeting
Present: Mayor Driscoll, Robert Lutts, Raymond Vaillanourt,
Thaddeus Buczko, William P. Goreham
Three organizations joined the meeting to discuss their proposals for
Fiscal Year 2013:
The Salvation Army – General Assistance Fund (food, fuel, housing)
Salem State College – Darwin Science Lecture/Read Lecture Fund
Community Architecture Labs – Scholarships for Computer/Math Skill Building Classes for Children/Discretionary Fund
The Board members reviewed the proposals with the applicants, asked questions and will render decisions after all participants have completed their presentations
and the budget for FY13 has been built and reviewed. (Target date August 1st.)
The Salem Council on Aging submitted requests for medication expense reimbursement. Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve $442.10 from the Endicott Fund for the expenses. The motion was seconded by Robert Lutts and voted unanimously.
Robert Hayes from the North Shore Concert Band requested funding for the free Willows Summer Concerts. Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve $1,800.00 from the Browne Fund for the free concerts. The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously. This will be sent out after July 1st as a FY13 expense.
The Brookhouse Home for Women submitted a request for medication expense reimbursement from their approved large grant. Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to approve $622.48 from the Endicott Fund for this expense. The motion was seconded by William P. Goreham and voted unanimously.
A check was received from the City of Salem vendor account for $7,500.00. The amount will be deposited in the Perpetual Care Fund. This was money received for cemetery plots. (Ref: 4/26/12, #00221825, $7,500.00)
Minutes of the April 12, 2012 meeting were reviewed. Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the minutes. The motions was seconded by Mayor Driscoll and voted unanimously.
